Ms. Sanlin's Musical Notes

Central Kitsap School District

Music Philosophy Statement
Music is a vital, living force in the life of every person and is essential to the development of a well-rounded, well-educated person. We promote music in the Central Kitsap School district schools to contribute to the self-realization of each individual. We place emphasis on the student's aesthetic, intellectual, and social development in our rapidly changing, culturally diverse society.

Through a variety of instructional approaches to the elements of melody, rhythm, harmony, pitch, form, timbre, and tone quality, we intend to acquaint each individual with the basic structure of music. The knowledge and skills learned will enable each student to continue to grow musically throughout his or her entire life.
